CALVARY PORTFOLIO complaint by Smblount48
I was trying to clean up my credit to prepare to buy a house for me and my son. I recieved my credit report from sprint and decided to contact calvary portforlio. I set up a payment arrangement for 294.00 which was a settlement amount. Towards the end of the month i realized that i would not be able to make that payment. I called at the end of the month to change the original arrangement. I said that i would have to break the arrangement in to more payments and I agreed to 50.00 at the end of April and 244.00 before the end of May. When I checked my account on May 1st I had and overdraft of 233.50 due to a check that cleared in the amount of 294.00 from Calvery Portfolio. I called and spoke to the manager and he called me a liar. He said that he never agreed to extend the settlement offer throught to another month.

I work for them and if the customer doesn't call for deletion of the check 3 business days in advance the check will be posted to the account as agreed. Also a settlement is an agreement for the terms set with the customer. A settlement has guidlines and if broken the selltmenet agreement is off.

The same terms were probably broken by the customer with the orginal company from which the orginal debt was generated. Customers always wants something for nothing or they want to set the terms for the arrangement and this is not the way it works when you are in collections. Lucky they even agreed to a settlement for less that what the orginal debt was in the first place.
