Calvary Portfolio Services -- Outdated/Outrageous Debt Collection
|
Feb 19, 2008 CALVARY PORTFOLIO complaint by Kylewtrhouse |
I received many anonymous phone calls to my cellular phone from "ID Unavailable" contacts. Out of suspicion, I answered one and came to find out that it was a debt collection agency called Calvary Portfolio Services. I had noticed the name on my credit report, but had no clue who or what this company was.
When I proceeded to talk with the representative over the phone, they tried to tell me that I had an alleged debt of over $10,000 for an unpaid cell phone bill. Stating that the company was Sprint, I automatically knew that this was false information. She told me that I had a phone in the year of 2001 ... which was also a false truth.
When I told the lady that I need proof of this and that I did not have a cell phone at that time, she would not give proof nor direct me to anyone who would. So, after growing more and more frustrated, the representative began to get very belligerent and rude in her tone. That's when I hung up the phone and began my research on this alleged debt and company.
The only phone I had near that time was a Virgin Mobile Cellular phone, which is a pre-paid phone on the Sprint Network. There is no way to owe money to a pre-paid phone service. This instance, in my eyes, is a fraudalent claim and this company needs to be reported for fraudlent practices.

I continue to get calls from 'uhknown caller'. The man stated he was from Calvary, and asked for a name that was not even mine. I made that clear. But.... he seemed to have my husband's name and my legal name and our phone number. something is fishy here. He repeated a SS# and I told him it did not belong to anyone in this house and DID NOT give him any of our SS#s. I accused me of pretending to be someone else even though I was emphatic that I did not know this person he was asking for. We recently had forgery and ID theft and had to close all of our accounts and banking accounts - I think this agency had/has something to do with the forgeries. I want this company stopped and prosecuted for their practices.

better get a lawyer now; they stopped harrassing me with calls, then reported it to equifax based on my middle initial and the number in my address. the rest of the address and middle name didd not match, and they did not have my ssn, but equifax gladly let them assign it to me and ruin my credit.

I had an Conseco Credit card and I had to get my credit report to find out who had it. I found out Calvery Portfolio Services had it and I mailed them a letter to get the correct information so that I could setup a debt repayment plan through CCCS in Oct. 2005.
They never setup a plan and everytime I check my credit reports they keep adding interest. The original amount is, $1,583.00 and the amount past due is $2,762.00
It should be illegal for them to do this.

I've received three statements from Calvary from an account that was paid in full eight years ago & last night I received a call from them on my cel phone. From here I am requesting every piece of documentation explaining how they received my personal info, cc'ing to my team of attorneys.
